Kudos to all those who participated in this week’s Photoassignment.net challenge - architecture. The group included Cheapshooter Flickr Group user mzieglertx, who joined in with a cool shot from Tacoma. Catch the slideshow below:

This week’s assignment? Framing.

The idea is to use natural or set up frames to set off the subject. Could be outdoor or indoor photos. Due on Monday, the 15th of October, at noon GMT+1.

Shoot some photos and post them to the Cheapshooter Flickr Group and I’ll post them here on Monday. Please tag all photos with the word “framing”.

This week’s photo assignment is a fun one: urban architecture.

Buildings in urban settings, from overall views to single buildings, or even exterior details. Due on Monday, the 8th of October, at noon GMT+1.

I’m going to join in and you should too! Post your results by Monday to the Cheapshooter Flickr Group and I’ll feature them here on the site.

Photo of the Day - September 27, 2007: Delicious »

comfort food !;-), originally uploaded by C Mariani.

Since this morning’s video was all about food photography, I thought it would be only fitting to finish off the day with some dessert. This photo by C Mariani is well composed and well lit. It’s pretty easy to screw up food photography and get an unappetizing result, but this photo just makes me hungry.

No stats available, but it looks like Mariani used a pretty wide aperture for a shallow depth of field. Nice shot!

Batavia in Bleu, originally uploaded by zemote.

Cheapshooter member Zemote shot this awesome photo of a house and a lake at night. I love the reflection and the coloring in this image - well done.

An 18mm lens with a shutter speed of 20 seconds and an aperture of f/22 combined to make this great photo.

One of the hardest things about concert photography is getting a good exposure of both the crowd and the artist on stage. Photographer Sgoralnick does just that with this photo shot at f/5.6 and 1/80s, with an ISO setting of 1600.

Concert photography requires that you get the most out of both your camera and lens. Cheapshooter will go through it all tomorrow morning in our Concert Photography Guide. Stay tuned…
